Blackjack Card Counters Pursued By Indiana Casinos

Card counting is not unlawful in a casino gambling, that much has been decided. What has not yet been determined in Indiana is whether casinos have the right to restrict card counters from gambling at their Blackjack gambling tables.
Indiana’s casinos are appealing to a lower court ruling that permits card counters to keep on to play at casinos. The casinos feel this present an unjust upper hand, even though the methods that are being used are entirely legitimate.
Over there are specialists that believe that if the Indiana Supreme Court does not turn over the lower court ruling, casinos will start to modify the rules for blackjack. It would present gamblers with by any means a much slower game than they are used to at the tables.
“This is going to be a beacon verdict by the Indiana Supreme Court, and most likely it is not going to be a decision that casinos like,” said Legal Analyst Bob Brice, “The law is unmistakably in the favor of the card counters.”
Casinos have established a way to offset the card counters by having dealers shuffle cards more often than they normally would or using other strategy. That has not halted some of the top card counters in the world, however, from executing their tasks of card counting inside casinos.
The case in Indiana was initiated by Thomas Donovan, an empowered card counter. He was thrown out of an Indiana casino, and brought a legal lawsuit against the Grand Victoria casino.

At first Donovan lost, but the Indiana Court of appeals ruled in his favor.
Now, the casinos are trying to have that ruling overturned by the Supreme Court. A loss for the casinos could mean widespread changes for the gaming industry in the state.
